Winery Named U.S. Wine Producer of the Year; 2013 Transcendent Cabernet Sauvignon Receives IWSC Gold Outstanding Award
Napa, Calif. (Nov. 16, 2017) – Black Stallion Estate Winery announced today that it is the exclusive recipient of the International Wine & Spirit Competition’s USA Wine Producer of the Year trophy.
Based on the winery’s outstanding performance, Black Stallion received the honors on November 15, 2017 at the IWSC Annual Awards Banquet at the historic City of London Guildhall.
Seven wines from Black Stallion Estate Winery received individual awards, with the winery’s halo wine, the 2013 Transcendent Cabernet Sauvignon, earning Gold Outstanding honors. To achieve this honor, wines must earn 93 points and above. Transcendent is the winery’s highest quality Cabernet, produced from mountain top estate vineyards and crafted by esteemed Winemaker Ralf Holdenried.
“Black Stallion Estate Winery is our flagship winery, and Transcendent is the culmination of our family’s goal to craft a legendary Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley,” said Chris Indelicato, CEO and president of Delicato Family Vineyards. “The IWSC awards for Black Stallion Estate Winery, and the wines we produce there, exemplify our commitment to excellence year after year.”
Now in its 48th year, the prestigious International Wine & Spirit Competition remains more relevant than ever, known for its strict submission guidelines and judging process.
