94 points – 2021 Black Stallion Bucephalus Napa Valley Red Wine
A blend of 69% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Malbec, 13% Syrah and 1% Petit Verdot, the 2021Bucephalus Red Wine features hints of tar and black olive, cassis, and black cherries. It’s full-bodied and firmly tannic, with ample concentration and a lingering, slightly softening finish that suggests its best days aren’t too far away. – Joe Czerwinski

93+ pts – 2021 Black Stallion Transcendent Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
The 100% varietal 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Transcendent offers up scents of pencil shavings, cassis and black cherries, plus vaguely floral nuances. It’s full-bodied, expansive, and generous but shows a modicum of Cabernet restraint, tapering into a long, lingering and softly tannic finish tinged with dark chocolate and French roast. If you can, give it at least a few years before pulling a cork. – Joe Czerwinski

91 pts – 2021 Black Stallion Limited Release Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
The Indelicato family has worked hard to elevate Black Stallion, and the efforts are paying off. The2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Limited Release is arguably underpriced for the quality, boasting mint, cedar, and herbal accents to its black cherry aromas. It’s full-bodied, moderately concentrated, and appropriately tannic yet balanced. If there’s nothing super special, there’s nothing misplaced either. There’s something to be said for clean, middle-of-the-road excellence at a price many can afford. – Joe Czerwinski
