Sue Hofmann Winemaker
Sue Hofmann joined the Delicato Family Vineyards winemaking team during the 2003 vintage as a research assistant. Her passion for winemaking was very evident and catapulted her into an assistant winemaking position. In January 2005, she was promoted to Winemaker for all red wine programs.
Sue began her winemaking career as a wine chemist and enologist for Diageo Chateau and Estate Wines in their Paicines, California facility, and went on to become winemaker at Gnekow Family Winery in Stockton before joining Delicato.
Born in Illinois, Sue spent her early years in California’s Santa Clara Valley and earned her Associate of Arts degree from West Valley College in Saratoga and an Associate of Science degree from Hartnell College in Salinas. She has taken extensive courses from the University of California at Davis in Enology and Viticulture.
Sue is a professional member of the American Society of Enology and Viticulture and a member of the Sacramento Philharmonic League.
Sue is passionate about good wine, good food and good company to share it with. She and her husband live in the Sacramento River delta region and enjoy boating, fishing, cooking and gardening as well as playing with their two dogs.
