Marie Indelicato Mathews
Director of Hospitality and Retail Sales, Marie Indelicato Mathews, has been immersed in the retail world since she purchased a Hallmark store in 1979. Retail sales and customer service are Marie's passion and during her tenure, she has transformed Delicato Family Vineyards' tasting room in Manteca into a world-class wine tasting facility and retail outlet. In 2010, the Indelicato family purchased Black Stallion Estate Winery in Napa and Marie took the helm of the winery's tasting room and hospitality program. Marie is responsible for trade, private and wine club events, sourcing gift merchandise and wine accessories, plus overseeing the wine club and tasting room websites.
As a third generation family member, Marie brings enthusiasm and energy to her role in the family business as well as an eye for opportunities to expand the reach of Delicato Family Vineyards through direct-to-consumer activities. To the thousands of guests who visit the tasting rooms in Napa or Manteca, Marie strives to provide the highest level of customer service whether the visitor is a tourist, employee, vendor, trade guest or member of the media. "My favorite part of the job is providing a memorable experience for everyone who takes the time to visit our tasting rooms," says Marie. "I think about the customer in everything I do, whether it's creating a tasting flight, building a retail display, launching a new wine or continuing family traditions such as Juice Days."
Marie has a Bachelor of Art degree from Sacramento State University. In her spare time she enjoys knitting, thrifting with her sister-in-laws and active involvement in her church. She is the proud mother of Stephen, the oldest member of Generation Four, who has been working with Delicato Family Vineyards' winemaking team. Marie and her husband Kim reside in the house built in 1949 by her grandparents, Gaspare and Caterina Indelicato.
