Chris Day, Chairman

Chris joined the board of Delicato on 1 July 2004 after retiring from his role as CEO of The International Wine Investment Fund, a $300 million wine fund listed on the Australian Stock Exchange.

An Australian native, Chris has a multi-disciplinary background in law, economics, accounting, applied finance, international business, governance, audit & risk management and marketing. He specializes in strategic and development planning while having a background in mergers and acquisitions.

He has worked (and studied) across these industries in Australia, New Zealand, the US, the UK and mainland Europe.  He has spent a great deal of his working life in agribusiness and as an investment banker.  Specifically, Chris has worked across the wine industry for the past 26 years.

He was fortunate to work for two of Australia’s (and the world's) leading wine groups, BRL Hardy Limited (now Accolade Wines Australia Pty Ltd) and Mildara Blass Limited (now Treasury Wine Estates Limited) as a senior executive.

Chris is the Chief Executive Officer of The FABAL Group Pty Ltd, an Australian based agribusiness and agri-tourism company.  He is also a director of several international and Australian companies across many industries and endeavors.

Chris, 55, is married to Alessandra and lives in Adelaide. They have four children.

He spends his spare time with his family, playing sports, flying private airplanes, acting in not-for-profit roles and watching the grapes, avocados, mangoes, strawberries and cherries grow.
